Overview
A desire by a Queensland coal mining company to provide a variety of mine workers accommodation in response to mine workers choice, was the catalyst for a series of major capital investments in new accommodation in the Bowen Basin.
MJC Sustainability was responsible for managing six multi-million dollar studies to identify, design and deliver accommodation both on mining leases and in nearby towns. The Study management included site identification, options assessment, concept through to detailed design, approvals, stakeholder management, tender and contract award, and preparation for project execution. The scale of the projects varied from individual houses to multiple hundreds of single persons' accommodation.
Client benefits: MJC Sustainability understands how to navigate the social impact considerations of mine workers accommodation, as well as coordinate the design and contracting activities necessary to provide accommodation in a short timeframe.
